Free machining brass is copper alloyed with zinc and a deliberate addition of lead that breaks chips cleanly at high cutting speeds. The result is the fastest-machining family of brasses — C36000 carries the machinability rating of 100 that every other copper alloy is measured against.
If your parts come off automatic lathes, sliding-head machines or CNC turning centres, this family delivers the shortest cycle times and the longest tool life of any brass we extrude.
